What we do
The work, start to finish
The West Coast Builders handles the whole run of a water, mold or fire loss. That means stopping the damage, extracting water and drying the structure to a measured reading, then removing mold or soot, cleaning contents and rebuilding what had to come out. The same crew carries a job from the first visit to the last coat of paint.
Most of our work is the ordinary kind that never makes the news. A supply line splits overnight, a water heater rusts through, a shower pan leaks into the room below, or a kitchen fire leaves soot through the house. We also handle the bigger losses that follow storms and fires in this city, and commercial and multi-unit buildings where drying has to be planned around people.

Coverage
Where we work
We dispatch from our office at 153 Japanese Village Plaza Mall in Little Tokyo. Downtown, the Eastside and South Los Angeles are close by, and the Westside, the canyons and the San Fernando Valley are a normal run. Calls from San Diego County are handled through our San Diego office on the same phone number.
The service area page describes each part of the city and what the work tends to look like there.
Guides
Who writes our guides
Our restoration guides are written by June Calloway, our restoration guides editor. They answer the questions we hear most on the phone: what to do in the first hour, how long drying takes, what insurance usually covers, and how to stop the next leak.
Cost figures in the guides come from published cost guides and are planning ranges, not quotes. Local details, like the February 2024 storm or the age of Los Angeles housing, come from public sources.
Plain talk
What we will and will not tell you
We describe how the work is done rather than making claims we cannot show you. You will not find invented reviews, ratings or badges on this site. What you will find is how we dry a wall, why we take readings, and what a job actually involves.
When every crew is out on a job or a storm fills the schedule, a call may be forwarded to another trusted local provider so you are not left waiting. That is a courtesy for busy nights, not how we run the business; the footer and our terms explain it.
