Working around your open hours

Commercial water damage restoration for Los Angeles businesses

For a business, the water is only half the loss. The other half is every hour the doors stay closed, so drying gets planned around getting you open again.

Quick answer

Commercial water damage restoration in Los Angeles covers offices, retail, restaurants and warehouses: stopping the source, extracting water, drying with commercial-size equipment, and documenting each area for your insurer. We plan the work around your business hours, dry sales floors and dining rooms overnight where possible, and keep walkways and exits clear.

The job

What changes on a commercial job

Commercial spaces are bigger, have more people moving through them and more to protect: stock, records, equipment and customers. A roof drain, fire sprinkler or restroom line can wet thousands of square feet at once.

So the plan starts with what must reopen first, and the drying is phased around it.

Time

How long before you can reopen

Many offices and shops reopen within a day or two with drying running around them. Kitchens need surfaces clean and dry first, which usually takes a few days.

Variations of this job

Office and retail

Office and retail losses usually involve carpet tile, drywall partitions and furniture systems. Carpet tile is lifted in sections so the floor underneath can dry; drywall is read and flood-cut only where it soaked. Cubicles and fixtures are moved or blocked up. In retail, stock on the floor is moved first and inventoried. We can run equipment overnight and pull it back from sales floors during trading hours, so the business stays open where it is safe to. Records and electronics are moved out of the wet area first.

Restaurant and kitchen

Restaurant and kitchen water damage has to meet food safety, not just drying. Water under walk-ins, prep tables and cook lines can be contaminated, and kitchens cannot reopen with wet walls or standing water. We extract, remove what soaked up dirty water, clean and disinfect food-contact areas and floors, and dry, so you can clear your own health inspection sooner. Dining rooms are dried after close so they can serve the next day where possible, with equipment cleared before staff arrive.

Warehouse and industrial

Warehouse and industrial losses are about scale and stock. Large slab floors take commercial pumps and high-capacity dehumidifiers, and water under pallets has to be found before it wicks into cartons. We help move stock off wet floors, keep aisles and exits clear for forklifts and staff, and log which areas and racks were affected so your inventory claim is backed up. Roof drains and sprinkler lines are the usual sources here, and we note which one so maintenance can follow up.

Los Angeles conditions

Downtown buildings and first-storm roofs

Our office sits in Little Tokyo, surrounded by Downtown Los Angeles storefronts, restaurants and older commercial buildings. The city averages about 14.25 inches of rain a year, mostly in a few winter storms, so flat commercial roofs and their drains go months untested. The first heavy storm of the season is when most of our commercial calls come in.
